Videos on this website have been made with the help of youngsters living in and around SOS Children’s Villages, to create this evolving ‘Our Africa’ educational resource. On this page, we present short films the children have produced by themselves. This is Africa through their eyes.
SOS Children has been working in Burkina Faso since 1995. There are two villages, one in Ouagadougou and one in Bobo-Dioulasso.
Here are two of the films produced by the SOS children.
This short film charts the tale of a young mother, who has to leave her child in the care of others when she goes to work. The video shows what can happen when through ignorance, she doesn’t seek the right kind of help when her child falls ill.

This short film warns about the very real threat of HIV/AIDS, a disease which is easily caught when youngsters do not protect themselves in a sexual relationship.
