Ivory Coast is a musical country. The Dan, a group of people who inhabit the mountains in the central-west region, are extremely passionate about music.  They rarely do anything without it.

Alpha Blondy is Ivory Coast’s best known singer.  He is a reggae artist and extremely famous though his music is not representative of the country's traditional musical heritage.
