A place for everything

Marketplaces in Ivory Coast are an abundance of colour, noise and smells – from the delicious and interesting, to the foul.

As explained in the video above, women come here to do their shopping and get food for their families.  So many things can be found here: aubergines, tomatoes, potatoes, cassava, dried fish and live chickens.

You can also buy rubber – it looks strange, but is used for shoes, car parts and much more.

The dried fish doesn’t look appealing, but it makes a good meal for many Ivorian families.
