Videos in this website have been put together by children living in and around SOS Children’s Villages. They’ve captured their thoughts, opinions and ideas to present a new perspective on Africa through their own eyes. The result is this evolving educational resource.
SOS Children has been working in Malawi since 1994. There are currently three Children’s Villages in Malawi.
Apart from making videos for this resource, a group of young people at the SOS Village in Malawi made their own short film on a subject that matters to them. This is what the children came up with:
Rags to Riches, Riches to Rags
'Rags to riches, riches to rags' is a story about a girl from a humble home who gains a scholarship at a good school. The young girl works hard at school and goes on to college and then finds a good job.
The story also tells a contrasting tale of two children from a wealthy home, who take their education for granted and misbehave. They end up homeless, without a job or an education.
