Our SOS Family

The importance of families

No family in the world is the same as another. Each is unique and special.

The family in the video above, at SOS Children’s Village Kigali, is no exception.

Marie is a loving, caring and dedicated mother. Her life changed forever during the 1994 genocide, when her husband was killed. This tragedy and loss steered her life in a new direction. She is now a mother to orphaned children with SOS Children’s Villages where her late husband once worked.

Marie has had many years of experience with children and just like every family, hers has its ups and downs. But Marie’s arms are always open and she is ready to listen, to understand and be there for her children.
