Filming in Zambia

Videos in this website have been put together by children living in and around SOS Children’s Villages.  They’ve captured their thoughts, opinions and ideas to present a new perspective on Africa through their own eyes.  The result is this evolving ‘Our Africa’ educational resource.

SOS Children has been working in Zambia since 1999 when it built its first Village in Lusaka.  There are another two Children’s Villages in Zambia.  Find out more about SOS Children in Zambia.

Apart from making videos for this resource, a group of young people at the SOS Village in Lusaka made their own short film on a subject that matters to them.

Our Story

The film ‘Our Story’ is about a young girl without a mother or father.  She comes to live at an SOS Children’s Village.  The story is about her life, but it gives a good example of what everyday life is like for children living at the village in Lusaka.

Doing chores, going to school and playing games such as football is all part of everyday life.
